Addendum
An add-on document that becomes part of your lease, covering things like pets, parking, or mold.
An addendum is an extra page attached to the lease that adds or changes terms - a pet addendum, a smoking policy, a lead-paint disclosure. Once signed, it's as binding as the lease itself.
Addenda added mid-tenancy generally require your agreement; a landlord usually can't bolt new rules onto a fixed-term lease without your signature.
Watch out
Read addenda as carefully as the lease - fees and penalties often hide there, not in the main document.
