Privacy Policy

The short version

The tools run in your browser. What you type into them - rent amounts, lease text, addresses, letters - stays on your device and is not sent to our servers unless a feature explicitly says otherwise and asks you first. Our analytics are cookieless and anonymous. We don't sell data. We don't show ads.

What we collect

Anonymous usage analytics. To understand what helps renters and what's broken, we record events like page views, which tools get used, errors, and anonymous feedback (thumbs up/down, comments, and ideas you choose to submit). This uses a random identifier stored in your browser - no cookies, no IP addresses, no names, no account. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal by not persisting that identifier between visits.

What you choose to send us. If you email us or submit feedback text, we receive what you wrote. Don't include personal details you'd rather keep private - the tools never require them.

What we never collect

The contents of your lease, your letters, your calculations, and your addresses are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to us. We never ask for government IDs, financial account numbers, or passwords.

If we add features that need more

Some planned features (like tracking a deposit dispute over time) would need an email address to work. If we launch them, they will be opt-in, explain exactly what is stored and why before you provide anything, include one-click deletion of your data, and this policy will be updated first. Nothing existing will start collecting more silently.

Third parties

Hosting and anonymous page analytics are provided by Vercel. Partner links (for example, insurance quotes) go to the partner's own site with its own privacy policy - partners never see what you entered into our tools.

Your choices

Use the tools without any account. Clear your browser storage to reset the anonymous identifier at any time. Enable Global Privacy Control and we won't persist it at all. To ask about or delete anything you've sent us directly, email hello@rentyfic.com.
