Can my landlord come in when I'm not home?
Yes - if they gave proper notice and it's a reasonable time, you don't have to be present. Without notice, it's the same illegal entry as any other.
Legally required notice is about warning, not attendance. Once the landlord has given the notice your state requires for a legitimate purpose, they may enter even if you're at work.
You can ask to reschedule to a time you can be present, and many landlords will - but they usually aren't obligated to. What you can insist on is the notice itself and a reasonable hour.
